The Ladysmith Educational Enrichment Fund is pleased to announce the recipients of its 20-21 grants. The recipients (pictured) submitted applications for enrichment projects that enhance the curriculum and that go beyond what the school district might otherwise be able to fund. Activities must be in the areas of fine arts, language arts, social studies, history, foreign language, math or science.
Six requests were approved by the Board of Education at its November 18th meeting. 4th grade teacher, Gina Baker was awarded $640 for “Project Kindness,” an arts/crafts project to make gifts to brighten the lives of area nursing home residents. Music teacher, Emily Dau, will receive a $1,500 grant for QuaverMusic, an online resource for music songs and activities, K-5.
2nd grade teacher, Anne Hoesly, requested $225 to purchase a document camera (an item which greatly enhances virtual instruction). 3rd grade teacher, Jennifer Ruff, was awarded $277 to purchase and assemble some additional math manipulatives which enhance the math curriculum.
